Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, October 21, 2024: District Administration Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar Punjab in collaboration with Rural Development and Panchayat Department under Livelihood Mission from October 18 to October 27 organized a fashion show dedicated to Karva Chauth last night at the first Saras Mela held at the open ground of Sector 88 near Manav Mangal School.
According to Mela Officer Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Sonam Chaudhary, the fashion show was based on the theme of Suhaag and Suhagan, which left a deep impression on the audience. The musical evening started with Punjabi singer Basant Kaur adding colour to the atmosphere with her hit songs 'Das Bhabiye Ni Munda Kedha Pind Da', 'Menu Reshmi Rumal Wangu Rakh Mundya', 'Haye Ni Munda War Gaya Nachdi De Utto Patase'. 
Carrying forward the legacy of late singer Raj Brar, his daughter Sweetaj Brar sang his songs, Na Na Ammiye Ni Tod Deo Eh Roka, Munda Jatt Da Shaukeen Lag Gaya Khan-Peen, Aaja Tere Nakhre Da Mul Taariye and her father's song, Tu Jeet Gayi Giddha Haar Gaya, taking the festival to the pinnacle.
The audience enjoyed Bhangra on Sweetaj's songs. Mannat Noor took the musical evening to the heights of perfection with her much-loved song 'Tu Long Main Laachi' and other popular songs. According to ADC Sonam Chaudhary, one of the objectives of the musical evening is to make people feel the music and also to increase enthusiasm at the stalls set up at the fair.
