SAS Nagar, October 6:- On the orders of the Supreme Court of the country and the High Court, under the guidelines given by Mr. Deepak Parik IPS Senior Captain Police SAS Nagar, S. Harinder Singh Mann PPS Captain Police Traffic SAS Nagar, under the leadership of S. Karnail Singh PPS Deputy Captain Police Traffic SAS Nagar, on 5 October 2024, special blockades were done by the traffic incharges in various areas of the city as part of the campaign against drink and drive.
During the blockade, a total of 53 challans were issued to drivers who drove after drinking alcohol. DSP Karnail Singh said that in future also, if any driver drives after drinking alcohol or violates any other traffic rules, then action will be taken against that driver as per the traffic rules as well as necessary legal action will be taken. DSP Karnail Singh further said that driving at night after drinking alcohol causes the most road accidents.
Drinkers not only put their lives at risk but also take many other persons in their grip. People are appealed to follow traffic rules and never drink and drive at night. Always use seat belt while driving and two-wheeler drivers must use helmets which have full safety and ISI mark.
Along with this, definitely use dipper at night. He said that those who violate traffic rules will not be spared at any cost.
