'Eat Right Mela' will be held on 1st December in Una

Una, October 3 - 'Eat Right Mela' will be organized in Una on December 1. The purpose of this one-day fair to be held in the premises of Government Senior Secondary School Una is to make people aware about good food. This information was given by Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal today (Thursday) after presiding over a meeting regarding the preparations for the fair. The fair will begin on December 1 at 10 am and end at 5 pm.

He informed that the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is going to organize Eat Right Fairs at the district headquarters in 3 districts of the state namely Una, Sirmour and Kinnaur. In this series, a fair will be organized in Una on 1st December.
He said that the main objective of this fair is that people get relief from diseases and they eat healthy food and pay attention to health and nutrition of food along with taste. The Deputy Commissioner gave necessary guidelines to the concerned officials for the success of the fair.
30 stalls will be set up in the fair
About 30 stalls and exhibitions will be set up in the school ground to display healthy food items and to spread awareness about natural farming. Through these, people will be made aware about good food and motivated to adopt the habit of eating nutritious food. In this, the cooperation of all the related departments including agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, industry, Ayurveda will be taken. Along with the stalls of self-help groups, stalls of local food items, organic products etc. will also be set up in the exhibition.
A mini marathon will be organized
On December 1, at 6 a.m., a mini marathon will be organized in three categories of women, men and senior citizens. On this occasion, cultural programs based on folk culture will also be organized.
These activities will take place at the fair
Along with organizing sports activities, various entertaining programs will be organized in the fair. During this, about 15 types of activities and competitions will be organized including tug of war, musical chair, cycling, quiz competition, painting, dance, slogan writing, song and music.
ASP Sanjeev Bhatia, Medical Superintendent Sanjay Manokotiya, Assistant Commissioner Food Safety Jagdish Dhiman, Deputy Director Agriculture Kulbhushan Dhiman, Deputy Director Horticulture KK Bhardwaj and officers of various departments were present in the meeting.
