Patiala, September 28 – Senior BJP leader and former MP Praneet Kaur and Punjab BJP Mahila Morcha President Jai Inder Kaur today criticized the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government over misappropriation of Ayushman Bharat scheme funds. In a statement issued here, Praneet Kaur said that the Punjab government's failure to distribute Rs 500 crore to private hospitals under the Ayushman Bharat scheme is a big betrayal of people's trust.
 The amount of more than 350 crore rupees received from the central government has not been used, while the patients are worried. He said that the way hospitals have stopped treatment due to non-payment, the Punjab government is spending the money received on other works. Instead of prioritizing people's health, priority is being given to massive advertising, renovation of officials' residences and purchase of unnecessary vehicles, which is misuse of public funds. The former MP said that the government is misleading the people of Punjab and falsely claiming that the BJP-led central government did not provide funds.
The truth is that the Center has given Rs 350 crore, which the AAP government is using elsewhere. Meanwhile, Jai Inder Kaur demanded that there should be an immediate investigation as to who is responsible for this serious mismanagement. Those found guilty, including the Health Minister, should be held accountable and punished.
