Punjab State Food Commission member Vijay Dutt made a surprise visit to various government schools and Anganwadi centers

Nawanshahr - Punjab State Food Commission Member Vijay Dutt today paid a surprise visit to various government schools and Anganwadi centers in Block Balachore of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar and inspected the beneficial schemes. Due to the premature locking of the Anganwadi Center of village Emma Chahal, the Commission Member directed the District Grievance Redressal Officer ADC (D) to issue a notice to the concerned officer and take action.

Similarly, they checked Government Elementary Smart School of Village Fatehpur and Village Majra Jatt Government Primary Smart School of Block Balachore and Government Primary Smart School of Village Fatehpur, Village Emma Chahal and Village Majra Jatt Anganwadi Center. He said that when he reached the Anganwadi Center of village Emma Chahal for checking at 11.20 in the morning, the gate of the center was locked. While the Anganwadi center closes at 1 pm Taking notice of which the Commission has issued instructions to the ADC (D) of the district to take action in this regard.
Mr. Dutt said that no one who commits such negligence will be spared. He gave instructions to maintain mid-day meal food safety register in schools, provide clean food to children and maintain cleanliness while preparing and serving food. The member of the commission talked about mid-day meal with the school students and also ate the mid-day meal with the children himself. He instructed that TDS and quality of drinking water in schools should be checked periodically by the concerned department. Apart from this, he directed to conduct health check-up of school students and also directed to conduct medical check-up of mid-day meal workers. While checking the Anganwadi centers, he instructed the in-charges and helpers to inform as many beneficiaries as possible about the latest schemes of the government.
During the visit, he gave instructions to install helpline number of Punjab State Food Commission in all government schools, government ration depots and Anganwadi centers of the district. He said that if any beneficiary has any complaint regarding the schemes of the National Food Security Act, he can register his complaint on the commission's helpline number 9876764545.
