SAS Nagar, October 23, 2024:- Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Viraj Shyam Karan Tidke held a meeting with the concerned departments under the direction of Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain for proper management of paddy straw without burning under the CRM scheme in the district during the year 2024-25.
He directed the officials of Agriculture, Cooperation and other departments present to ensure maximum use of the machinery being made available on subsidy and make machinery available to the needy farmers through nodal officers so that incidents of stubble fire can be prevented.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner also said that the list of 1328 machines supplied from 2018 till date should be ensured to be pasted in the cooperative societies, panchayat houses, gram sabhas and other public places in the respective villages.
Apart from this, he also ordered that the villages cultivating potatoes, peas and other vegetables should be identified. So that police, fire brigade management and IEC activities can be implemented on time and suggested to make bales of straw from such fields on priority basis through balers working in the district.
During this meeting, Assistant Commissioner (General) Ankita Kansal, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies of Agriculture Department Gurbir Singh Dhillon, Chief Agriculture Officer Gurmel Singh and Agriculture Officer Gurdayal Kumar along with other departments were present.
