Una, September 12 - Star para athlete Nishad Kumar, who brought pride to the country by winning a silver medal in the Paris Paralympics, was given a grand welcome on his arrival in his home district Una on Friday. On behalf of the district administration, District Sports and Youth Services Officer Uttam Dod welcomed him at the Indira Gandhi Sports Stadium campus. Nishad Kumar was accompanied by his father Rashpal Singh, mother Pushpa Devi, sister Rama Devi and coach Nadeem Ahmed.

Una, September 12 - Star para athlete Nishad Kumar, who brought pride to the country by winning a silver medal in the Paris Paralympics, was given a grand welcome on his arrival in his home district Una on Friday. 25-year-old Nishad Kumar is a resident of Badaun village in Andaura Gram Panchayat of Amb tehsil of Una district.
On this occasion, Nishad said that he is happy to have won a silver medal for the state in the Paralympics for the second consecutive time. He thanked everyone for their support and prayers. Nishad said that he had left no stone unturned in his preparations. He will continue to prepare with full hard work in the future as well.
Nishad Kumar's historic achievement at Paris Paralympics
It is noteworthy that Nishad Kumar has won a silver medal in the high jump (T-47) event in the recently held Paralympic Games in Paris. This is his remarkable achievement of winning a silver medal in the second consecutive Paralympic event. In the 2021 Tokyo Paralympics too, he made the country proud by winning a silver medal in the same event.
