
Quarterly meeting of Child Welfare Committee organized
Una, November 19- The quarterly meeting of the Child Welfare Committee was held at the district headquarters on Tuesday. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal. On this occasion, a detailed review of the work being done by the Child Welfare Committee was done. The Deputy Commissioner directed the Child Welfare Committee that any matter related to children should be brought to their notice immediately as soon as it comes to the notice of the committee, so that proper solution can be ensured in time.

On this occasion, a detailed review of the work being done by the Child Welfare Committee was done. The Deputy Commissioner directed the Child Welfare Committee that any matter related to children should be brought to their notice immediately as soon as it comes to the notice of the committee, so that proper solution can be ensured in time.
He informed that four proposals were received under the Sponsorship and Foster Care Scheme during July to September 2024. The committee has inspected these proposals and approved all the cases and sent them to the District Child Protection Officer for necessary action. Apart from this, the homes and schools of 40 children receiving assistance under the Foster Care Scheme have also been inspected so that their condition can be assessed.
After the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the One Stop Center Una. During the inspection, he took information regarding the vacant posts and also took stock of the progress of the new building under construction. During this, necessary guidelines were given to the officials. Apart from this, the Deputy Commissioner visited the Samparaksha Grih and Special Home Institute Samur Kalan. There he inspected the care of the children, living arrangements and other facilities and instructed the concerned officials to strengthen the arrangements.
Child Welfare Committee Chairperson Meenakshi Rana said that the committee regularly inspects the Samparaksha Grih, Special Home Institute Samur Kalan and Prem Ashram. These institutions are visited twice every month and the living arrangements, food items and other essential services of the children are checked.
Apart from this, the committee also runs awareness campaigns by visiting schools about various schemes like POCSO Act, JJ Act, Child Marriage Prohibition Law and other government schemes run for the welfare of children.
Child Welfare Committee Chairperson Meenakshi Rana, District Child Protection Officer Kamaldeep Singh, CPO Sanjay Sankhyan and other officials were present in the meeting.
