He was speaking today on the occasion of World Environment Day during the planting of saplings under the campaign launched by Youth Services Department to plant saplings in the district on Environment Day. The Deputy Commissioner said that air pollution is very dangerous for human health and more and more trees should be planted to maintain a clean climate, in which school students, social organizations, parents and teachers can play an important role. Appreciating the Youth Services Department, the Deputy Commissioner said that the department has taken a very commendable initiative to plant plantations through youth clubs and NSS volunteers in the district. He said that today 1750 volunteers from 27 organizations of the district have planted more than 10050 saplings.
