Hoshiarpur - MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa today reached Labasna Hospital to inquire about the condition of youths who were injured in firecracker explosion in Mohalla Prahlad Nagar of Hoshiarpur and interacted with their families. He expressed deep grief over the incident and wished speedy recovery to all the injured. Meanwhile, MLA Jimpa, considering the seriousness of the accident, appealed to the city residents to take care of security and religious etiquette.

MLA Jimpa expressed concern over the tradition of bursting firecrackers with the sacred images of Lord Hanuman on the occasion of Dussehra. He said that this tradition, which has been going on for decades, is not good from the point of view of security, despite being associated with religious faith. Today in Prahlad Nagar also many youths have been seriously injured due to the fire in the bag of crackers, which is a very sad and worrying incident.
Due to this accident, there has been a lot of damage in the area. MLA Jimpa appealed to all the religious institutions of the city and said that in view of maintaining the dignity of Lord Hanuman ji's form and the safety of the devotees, the tradition of firing firecrackers with Hanuman ji should be ended from today.
He said that by continuing this tradition, even bigger accidents can happen, which can be seen from today's incident. MLA Jimpa also asked the administration to ensure that such incidents do not happen in future and make adequate security arrangements. He assured that all possible assistance will be given to the injured and proper medical care will be provided to them. Meanwhile, Senior Deputy Mayor Praveen Saini, Councilor Pradeep Bittu, Dheeraj Sharma were also present with him.
