Karnal, September 23: Acting on a tip-off, the team of ASI Rajiv Sandhu, under the direction of Inspector Ajay Kumar, in-charge of the Karnal Police Crime Unit CIA-3, arrested the accused, Ashok Saini (son of Dhani Ram, resident of Saini Colony, Sector-16, Karnal), from Meera Ghati Chowk. Police recovered 11 tolas of gold jewellery, one gold coin, and ?11.5 lakh (1150,000) in cash from his possession.
CIA In-charge Ajay Kumar stated that the accused had been working as a plumber at a prestigious school for the past eight years. On the night of August 28, 2025, the accused committed the crime by stealing valuable gold jewellery and cash from the school. A case was registered in the City Police Station on August 29, 2025.
 During the investigation, the accused was arrested on September 17, 2025, produced in court, and was granted five days' police remand for further interrogation. After the expiry of the remand period, the accused was again produced in the court today, from where he was sent to judicial custody.
