Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini was speaking at a state-level program organized on the Smriti Diwas of revered Swami Bhisham Maharaj at the Anaj Mandi in Kurukshetra on Sunday. The Chief Minister formally inaugurated the program by offering flowers to the picture of Swami Bhisham Maharaj and lighting a lamp.
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that today we are remembering Swami Bhisham Maharaj on this holy land of Dharmakshetra-Kurukshetra. The life of revered Swami Ji was spent in social service, spiritual awakening and practicing national interest. He inspired the society to follow the path of unity, education, culture and service.
Swami Bhisham Maharaj was the jewel of Panchal Samaj. Panchal Samaj is a hardworking society. From agriculture to industry, from construction to security, they are contributing to the building of the nation. The developed Haryana that we are seeing today has a major contribution from the skills and hard work of the society.
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that Swami Bhisham Maharaj had performed penance in village Tyoda and village Pandu Pindara of Kurukshetra. He studied Swami Dayanand Saraswati's book Satyartha Prakash. He made invaluable contributions in the organization and propagation of Arya Samaj. He created public awareness against evils like child marriage, illiteracy and drug addiction.
He fought for women's education, widow remarriage and the rights of the deprived sections of the society. The Chief Minister said that his pen was as sharp as his speech. He wrote 228 books, which are based on topics like nationalism and social reforms. His songs and poems still fill the people with energy and inspiration.
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that great men do not belong to any religion or caste but belong to everyone. It is the responsibility of all of us to take care of and preserve their legacy. Therefore, we are also working to convey the message of saints and great men to the people under the Sant-Mahapurush Vichar Samman Aa Prasar Yojana. To realize the message of equality given by great men, we have made many such schemes, which can uplift the living standards of the poorest of the poor from every section of the society.
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that the government is determined to ensure that every hardworking person of Haryana gets respect, strength and new avenues of progress are opened for him. We are working by adopting the basic mantra of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas-Sabka Vishwas-Sabka Prayas. The Prime Minister has given constitutional status to the National Backward Classes Commission.
OBCs have been given the highest representation in his Union Council of Ministers so far. He has given reservation to OBCs in All India Quota seats in medical education. Along with this, Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana has been launched to uplift the backward classes. Its aim is to encourage skilled artisans. In this scheme, skill training is provided and loans are given at a nominal interest rate to purchase tools.
We are also implementing this scheme in Haryana. The Central Government has decided to celebrate Vishwakarma Jayanti as National Labour Day. Every year National Labour Day is also celebrated with great pomp in Haryana. The income limit of the creamy layer for the backward classes in the state has been increased from Rs 6 lakh per annum to Rs 8 lakh.
Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda, Public Works and Engineering Minister Ranbir Gangwa, former Minister of State Subhash Sudha, President of Haryana Vishwakarma Panchal Samaj Sudhar Sabha Sahab Singh Kharindwa also addressed the occasion.
