District Legal Services Authority creates awareness among the people through Help Desk and 'Mission Raksha Bandhan'

Hoshiarpur- Under the guidance of Member Secretary, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar and under the leadership of District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Rajinder Agarwal, a Help Desk was set up at Police Ground, Hoshiarpur on the occasion of 79th Independence Day.

Giving information, CJM-cum-Secretary District Legal Services Authority Neeraj Goyal said that on this occasion, Panel Advocate Honey Azad, Ashish Jyoti, Renu, Smriti Khurana, Sandeep and Karan Luthra informed the general public present about the various schemes being run by the National Legal Services Authority. He said that free legal aid is provided to the weaker and deprived sections of the society. For this, a written application on the prescribed proforma can be submitted to the District can be submitted to the Legal Services Authority.
During the program, extensive publicity was given about the National Lok Adalat to be held on 13 September 2025 and the NALSA toll-free helpline number 15100. Apart from this, pamphlets related to free legal aid were also distributed by para legal volunteers. Apart from this, the District Legal Services Authority, Hoshiarpur launched a campaign called Mission Raksha Bandhan - New Concept: Law as the True Protector of Women from 9 August to 16 August 2025.
The aim of this campaign is to make women and girls aware of legal literacy and to make them aware of their rights related to justice and equality. Under this campaign, panel advocates Ashish Jyoti and Smriti Khurana in government senior secondary schools informed the girl students about special laws related to women and women empowerment. The girl students were also made aware about free legal aid schemes.
On this occasion, Rakhis were distributed to the girl students and Under the "Brothers for Justice" oath campaign, the students took the oath that "Justice is the real bond of security." The entire staff of the District Legal Services Authority, Hoshiarpur was present during the Help Desk and Mission Raksha Bandhan campaign.
