Hisar:- A review meeting on the subject of stray animals in the district was organized in the Mini Secretariat Auditorium on Monday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Anish Yadav. Mayor Praveen Popli, Superintendent of Police Shashank Kumar Sawan, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Neeraj, AMC Dr. Pradeep Hooda, Municipal Corporation Councilor and a large number of dairy operators and animal keepers were present in this meeting. In the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said that strict legal action will be implemented against those who leave pet animals on the roads.
He said that the administration will work in mission mode to make the city free from stray animals. Earlier, if any pet animal is caught on the road, then the animal keepers used to get it released by paying a fine, but this time if the animals are found on the road, then legal action will be implemented against the concerned animal keepers.
He has appealed to the animal keepers to ensure that they tie their animals in their homes instead of tying them on the road. Apart from this, he has appealed to all the cattle keepers not to throw the dung coming out of their dairy in the sewerage because it blocks the sewer.
He told that despite repeated appeals by the administration to the cattle keepers, there is no reduction in the number of stray animals on the roads, due to which the problem of accidents on the roads always persists. He gave necessary instructions to the concerned departments to run an intensive campaign to make the roads of the district animal free.
The Deputy Commissioner said that strict legal action should be taken against those who chase and stalk the teams catching animals and FIR should be registered against them. On behalf of the Dairy Association/Animal Keepers, Pradhan Alisher said that he will support the action of the administration against those who leave the animals open on the roads after milking them.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner was informed by the corporation that on an average 50 animals are caught from the city which are left in the cow sanctuary. In the cow sanctuary situated in about 52 acres, cows are kept in 26 acres, bulls are kept in 14 acres and fodder is sown for them in 12 acres. The cow sanctuary has the capacity to keep 4 thousand cows and bulls and it is being operated by Gau Seva Foundation.
