Kharar (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar), August 20: District Red Cross Branch, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar under the leadership of Mrs. Komal Mittal, IAS. Deputy Commissioner-cum-President, District Red Cross Society organized a medical camp at village Ghataur, Tehsil Kharar for medical check-up, treatment and provision of equipment for senior citizens.
In this camp, the medical team included Dr. Ishan Sharma (Medicine), Dr. Ritu Gera (Ophthalmologist), Dr. Nidhi Sahota (Dental Surgeon) Civil Hospital Kharar treated the patients who came to the camp and free medicines were provided by the District Red Cross Branch. Along with this, Alemco distributed equipment worth about 6.00 lakhs, wheel chairs, hearing aids, sticks, Vaisakhis etc. to 55 senior citizens free of cost. Harbans Singh, Secretary of District Red Cross Society, informed that Red Cross, apart from carrying out public welfare work like providing ration and sewing machines to the needy, keeps organizing blood donation camps. Sarpanch Mrs. Ramandeep thanked the officers, employees and villagers who came to the camp.
