The alleged incident took place on September 9 near Sonauli on the Indo-Nepal border, when protesters targeted a bus carrying 49 Indians. The driver claimed that stones were pelted, breaking the windows of the bus and injuring several passengers, including women and elderly people.
According to reports, local authorities admitted the injured to a hospital in Kathmandu, while the rest of the passengers were sent back to India in a special plane arranged by the Indian Embassy with the help of the Nepalese government.
Speaking to reporters here, bus driver Ramu Nishad said, “We were returning after visiting (Pashupatinath temple) when suddenly a mob surrounded our bus and attacked it without any reason. There were women and elderly people among the passengers, but the protesters did not care.”
Amidst the Nepal crisis, Gen Z protesters have organised a press meet here to express their views. On the other hand, some of their representatives were holding discussions with President Ramchandra Paudel and Army Chief Ashok Raj Singh at the Army Headquarters to find a solution to the current political crisis.
