Deputy Commissioner inspected Swan river to crack down on mining mafia, seized three tippers, collected fine of Rs 75,000

Una, March 10- Deputy Commissioner Una Jatin Lal inspected Swan river in Ghaluwal and Basal area on Monday and took action against mining mafia and seized three tippers on the spot and collected a fine of Rs 75,000. During the inspection, tippers were seized on the spot when they were found violating mining rules and prescribed scientific procedures and fine was also imposed under NGT rules. During this, Superintendent of Police Rakesh Singh was also with him.

The Deputy Commissioner said that Una district is rich in natural resources and their conservation is the top priority of the administration. He said that unscientific mining not only damages the environment but also poses a threat to the local communities. The district administration is taking strict legal action against the persons involved in illegal mining and violation of mining rules and this process will continue in future as well.
During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner directed to further strengthen the monitoring system of mining activities. He instructed the officials to conduct regular inspections and completely curb illegal mining activities. He also appealed to the general public to inform the administration about illegal mining activities so that it can be completely stopped with the cooperation and vigilance of local citizens.
Superintendent of Police Rakesh Singh said that the district police is committed to deal with illegal mining. The police is keeping a strict vigil on illegal mining activities and strict action will continue in future as well.
