Patiala: September 17: The PRTC Pensioners Association's monthly meeting was held today at the old bus stand, chaired by Mukund Singh, President of the PRTC Pensioners Association, and Bhagwant Singh Kanganwal, State President. A large number of pensioners from various depots participated. Speakers from various depots demanded payment of their outstanding dues.
Management's silence regarding the outstanding dues led to the gathering of pensioners and the gathering, raising slogans against the PRTC management and the government. Speakers from various depots stated that the association's office bearers had been unanimously elected for the next two years.
All depots expressed their confidence in the association's old central body, headed by Chairman Mukund Singh, State President Bhagwant Singh Kanganwal, General Secretary Bachan Singh Arora, General Secretary Hari Singh Chamak, and Cashier Amolak Singh, and unanimously elected this body for a two-year term.
Addressing the packed meeting, State President Bhagwant Singh Kanganwal and General Secretary Hari Singh Chamak thanked all pensioners for their faith in the Central Body's work and for unanimously giving them the opportunity to serve again, and assured them of payment of their remaining dues.
Chairman Mukund Singh, who attended despite his ill health, congratulated all the depot office-bearers for the unanimous election, thanked them for their faith in the Central Body, and stressed on maintaining unity.
Apart from the above, the meeting was also addressed by Shri Bachitar Singh Ludhiana Depot, Gurmeet Singh Kapurthala, Jalore Singh Faridkot, Sukhjeet Singh Bathinda, Gyan Chand Budhlada, Madan Mohan Sharma Barnala, Upkar Singh Sangrur, Harbhajan Singh Chandigarh, Bachan Singh Arora General Secretary Central Body, Gurbachan Singh Jassi Bathinda, Joginder Singh Patiala Depot.
Bakhshish Singh, office secretary, Amolak Singh, Jarnail Singh, Suraj Bhan, Santosh Kishan Chhapar, Tejinder Pal, Rameshwar Das, Jaspal Singh, Bir Singh, Kapoor Chand Dhaliwal, Sant Ram Nirpal Singh, and Ram Dita contributed significantly to the success of the meeting. The central organization's officials were honored with Siropas. Bachan Singh Arora handled the stage duties admirably.
