Chandigarh, September 7 - Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini on Sunday visited the flood-affected areas of Baliala Road, Kudni Head, Chandpura Siphon and nearby areas of Fatehabad district. He took stock of the flood situation and met the local citizens and farmers and assured them of all possible assistance.

Shatipurti portal opened for farmers
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that the state government will ensure compensation for the losses of farmers. For this, e-Shatipurti portal has been opened. On this portal, farmers can give details of their damaged crops. So far, crop damage in about 1 lakh 70 thousand acres has been registered in the state on this portal. The compensation amount will be provided to the farmers soon. He assured the farmers that the state government stands firmly with all of you and will give them proper compensation.
Relief will be given for damage to houses and roofs
The Chief Minister said that relief will be given to those whose houses or roofs have been damaged. The Deputy Commissioner has been instructed to prepare a list of the houses that have been damaged and compensation should be given to them as soon as possible. The Chief Minister said that Rs 78.50 crore has been released about a month ago under the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Awas Yojana. Relief amount will be given immediately on application to the affected family. He said that relief will be given to the people of the houses affected by the rain.
The state government also sent help to neighboring states
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that the Haryana government is helping the flood-affected people of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. So far, more than 80 trucks loaded with relief material have been sent. He said that 25 trucks have been dispatched today, out of which 10 trucks have been sent to Himachal Pradesh and 15 trucks to Punjab. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda are constantly monitoring the situation and are providing all possible support.
Crores of assistance for housing and farmers
The Chief Minister said that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Rs 2314 crore has been released for rural and urban areas in the state in the last 10 and a half years. Rs 416 crore has been allocated under the Ambedkar Awas Naveenikaran Yojana. The Chief Minister said that the state government has recently also distributed Rs 88.50 crore to compensate farmers for crop damage.
The government will find a permanent solution to the problem of waterlogging
The Chief Minister said that due to heavy rains, waterlogging has occurred in the low-lying areas of Haryana. He visited the affected areas and directed the officials to expedite relief and drainage works. He said that the government is seriously considering finding a permanent solution to this problem. So that the people do not have to face such troubles in the future.
He said that the officials are working day and night and are reaching the spot immediately in any disaster situation. He thanked the administrative officers, ministers, MLAs and public representatives who are going from village to village to meet the people and are solving their problems.
Everyone will have to make efforts together
The Chief Minister said that at the time of natural calamity, everyone should maintain patience and cooperation. Be it Punjab or Himachal Pradesh, such situations can be faced only with collective efforts. He said that all the ministers, MLAs, administrative officers and people of the society are working together to help the affected families.
He said that no one will be allowed to face any trouble. The Chief Minister directed the officials that no citizen should face any problem. Continuous monitoring of the water level should be maintained and immediate relief should be provided in case of emergency.
On this occasion, he was accompanied by former minister Devendra Singh Babli, former MP Sunita Duggal, former MLA Duda Ram, state Chief Minister Surendra Punia, Deputy Commissioner Mandeep Kaur, Superintendent of Police Siddhant Jain, SDM Akash Sharma and senior officials.
