In this meeting, he discussed in detail his journey from ASP to DGP, the Punjab Government’s “War Against Drugs” campaign, the process of paddy procurement and lifting, and initiatives related to human rights.
Recalling his long police career, DGP Arora stated that police service is a challenging yet highly fulfilling responsibility for the welfare of society. He explained how he began his career as an ASP and, while serving in various positions, is now performing his duties as a DGP. Throughout this journey, he faced numerous challenges but always prioritized service, discipline, and dedication at every step.
Regarding the “War Against Drugs” campaign, he said that it is the top priority of the Punjab Government, and the Punjab Police is advancing this campaign with full strength. The main objectives of this campaign are to dismantle the drug supply chain, take strict action against traffickers, and spread awareness to keep youth away from drugs. He expressed confidence that, with the cooperation of society, the goal of making Punjab drug-free will soon be achieved.
On the protection of human rights, he emphasized that the Punjab Police is ensuring that every action is conducted within the framework of the law and in a transparent manner. Strict oversight is maintained to prevent any violation of citizens’ rights. He noted that the department has taken several reformative steps in this direction to further strengthen the trust between the police and the public.
