Mahilpur- SDM Hoshiarpur Gursimranjit Kaur today visited the flood-hit villages of Chabbewal assembly constituency where people are facing difficulties due to waterlogging due to heavy rains. She met the affected families and listened to their problems and assured all possible help from the administration. The SDM visited villages Khanora, Phuglana, Hart, Badla, Simbli and Rajpur Bhaian and other nearby affected villages.
During this, she distributed relief materials to the flood-hit families, which included ration, drinking water, tarpaulin and other essential items. She said that the district administration is constantly monitoring the situation in the flood-hit areas and relief and rescue operations are being carried out expeditiously. Meeting the immediate needs of the affected families is the first priority of the administration. The SDM assured the villagers that the Punjab Government and the district administration are fully with them in this difficult time.
Gursimranjit Kaur directed the officials to ensure uninterrupted availability of health services, animal facilities and clean drinking water in the flood-affected villages. She appealed to the people not to pay attention to rumours and in case of any emergency, immediately contact the administrative officials or the control room.
