Gurinder's appeal rejected for desecrating Guru Granth Sahib Ji: Sent to jail.

Ludhiana, August 27, 2025:- The appeal of Gurinder son of Sohan Singh, a resident of the colony, who desecrated Guru Granth Sahib Ji on February 12, 2019 in Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha of Palam Vihar, Dad village, Ludhiana, has been rejected by the Additional Sessions Judge of Ludhiana, Madam Saroo Mehta Kaushik and Gurinder has been taken into custody and sent to Central Jail, Ludhiana to serve the remaining sentence.

Ludhiana, August 27, 2025:- The appeal of Gurinder son of Sohan Singh, a resident of the colony, who desecrated Guru Granth Sahib Ji on February 12, 2019 in Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha of Palam Vihar, Dad village, Ludhiana, has been rejected by the Additional Sessions Judge of Ludhiana, Madam Saroo Mehta Kaushik and Gurinder has been taken into custody and sent to Central Jail, Ludhiana to serve the remaining sentence.
In this regard, a case number 14/2019 was registered in Ludhiana Police Station Sadar under Section 295-A by Bhai Jal Singh, Granthi of Gurdwara Sahib. Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur, who appeared for the plaintiff in the case, told the media that Gurinder, who used to run a shop in Adda Jodhan, was arrested through CCTV cameras after the sacrilege.
And Rajwinder Kaur, Judicial Magistrate First Class, Ludhiana, had sentenced him to 6 months imprisonment and a fine of 3000/- under Section 295-A on February 6, 2024. After being granted bail, Gurinder had filed an appeal in the Sessions Court. Hearing which, the court rejected Gurinder's appeal and upheld the 6-month sentence.
Advocate Manjhpur said that Gurinder was an atheist who had committed this crime under the guise of Mand Bhavana and to deny his crime, he had given the excuse of being mentally disturbed, but the court rejected this excuse and sentenced him.
