
District Language Office Hoshiarpur organized a grand district level poetry singing and literature creation competition.
Hoshiarpur- Under the guidance of Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains, under the guidance of Director Language Department Punjab Jaswant Singh Zafar Huran and under the leadership of Jaspreet Kaur District Language Officer Hoshiarpur, continuous activities are being carried out for the promotion and dissemination of Punjabi language and culture.

Under this link, poetry singing and literature creation competitions are organized every year to instill creative and aesthetic activities towards fine arts among students. This time, district level competitions were organized in Hoshiarpur at School of Eminence Government Senior Secondary School Khuspur Hiran under the chairmanship of Vice Principal Madam Preeti Soni.
Dr. Jaswant Rai Research Officer Language Department Hoshiarpur shared detailed information with the contestants and teachers about the working style of the Language Department and the format of the competitions. He said that students from government, semi-government and private schools of the district participated with great enthusiasm in these competitions.
In the poetry singing competition, Nipun Sharma, Tanu Thakur and Vanshika Rana, in the poetry writing competition, Gurpreet Kaur, Kumkum and Siya, in the story writing competition, Tania, Gauri and Simran, in the essay writing competition, Kashish, Sharon and Khushboo secured the first, second and third positions respectively. The winning students were honored with cash prizes of Rs. 1000/-, 750/- and 500/- along with a certificate from the Language Department.
Prof. Harminder Kaur, Dr. Shamsher Mohi and Varinder Nimana, who served as judges in these competitions, were honored with a set of books and a set of services received from the Language Department. Madam Preeti Soni, Anju V Ratti, Hardeep Gill, Narinder Kumar Sharma and Maninderjit Kaur were honored with sets of books for their special support in the event. At the end of the event, Madam Preeti Soni delivered the vote of thanks. Madam Anju V Ratti performed the role of stage secretary brilliantly. On this occasion, Birendra Singh, Lal Singh, Pushpa Rani, Parveen Kumar, Veena Kumari, Manju Bala, Jasbir Kaur, Ravi Kumar teachers and students from various schools were present.
