SAS Nagar, June 9 - Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) district in-charge Sanjeev Vashisht has alleged that the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of Punjab has plunged Punjab into debt. Vashisht said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who used to talk about filling the treasury of Punjab before the formation of the government, is today on the path of making Punjab bankrupt by taking new loans every day in connivance with Arvind Kejriwal.
Vashisht revealed that the Bhagwant Mann government has taken another loan of Rs 1,000 crore in the month of May itself. He stressed that this is not just a matter of this month, but it is a continuous process of taking loans, which is burdening the people of Punjab.
He said that the impact of this new loan will have to be borne by the Punjabis till 2046 and this has directly burdened the future generations of Punjab. He demanded that the AAP government should focus on improving the financial management of the state and increasing government resources instead of taking loans.
