All the roads under the Municipal Corporation will be renovated in one and a half months - Brahm Shankar Jimpa.

MLA Bram Shankar Jimpa shared the details of the development works worth crores of rupees carried out by the Municipal Corporation under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann in a press conference with Mayor Surinder Kumar today.

Hoshiarpur:- Under the leadership of the Punjab government, Hoshiarpur city is touching new heights of development. MLA Bram Shankar Jimpa shared the details of the development works worth crores of rupees carried out by the Municipal Corporation under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann in a press conference with Mayor Surinder Kumar today. These works have left no stone unturned in making the city clean, safe and modern, due to which 43 Hoshiarpur is becoming an example in the field of development.
The MLA said that all the roads of the city under the Municipal Corporation will be renovated in one and a half months. He said that apart from this, all the old markets of the city will be given the form of heritage markets. He said that Rs 53 crore has been invested in the construction and repair of roads, streets and drains of Hoshiarpur. Out of these, works worth Rs 21 crore have been completed, while the remaining works are in progress at a fast pace.
In addition, in the year 2025, the Punjab government has approved an additional amount of Rs 35 crore for the Municipal Corporation, which will further strengthen the basic facilities of the city. MLA Jimpa said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s vision is that every road and street of Hoshiarpur should not only be durable but also look modern.
MLA Jimpa said that unprecedented efforts have been made to strengthen water supply and rainwater drainage in the city. Since 2022, 43 tubewells have been installed or re-bored at a cost of Rs 15 crore. Also, a new pipeline project worth Rs 7.11 crore has been approved, the work of which has started.
The construction of a storm sewer in Shimla Hill area has been completed at a cost of Rs 1.98 crore, which will soon be dedicated to the public. This project will permanently solve the problem of waterlogging during the rainy season.
To make Hoshiarpur clean and beautiful, the Municipal Corporation has provided ultra-modern facilities like rickshaws, vehicles, autos, jetting machines, JCB and super suction machines at a cost of Rs 9 crore. This ensures that every corner of the city remains clean and organized.
MLA Jimpa said that to illuminate the city, streets and fancy lights are being installed at a cost of Rs 10.50 crore, due to which Hoshiarpur will look safe and attractive even at night.
Apart from this, Rs 2.50 crore is being spent on beautification and renovation of parks, so that the city residents can get a green and healthy environment. To improve the fire brigade facility, the construction work of a new building at a cost of Rs 2.90 crore has started on Choa Dam Road, which will make the emergency services more effective.
Bram Shankar Jimpa assured that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the dream of making Hoshiarpur a model city of Punjab is fast becoming a reality. He said that our every step is towards improving the lives of the city residents. The Punjab Government and the Municipal Corporation are jointly ensuring that Hoshiarpur passes every test of development. He said that these development works underway in Hoshiarpur are a living proof of the visionary thinking and dedication of the Punjab Government and the Municipal Corporation.
Senior Deputy Mayor Praveen Saini, Deputy Mayor Ranjit Chaudhary, Finance Committee Chairman Balwinder Bindi and other councilors were also present on the occasion.
