Hoshiarpur- The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is working diligently for the welfare of every section. To achieve this objective, Social Justice, Empowerment and Minority Minister Dr. Baljit Singh is making every possible effort for the welfare of backward classes and minority classes of Punjab state.
In this regard, Sandeep Saini, Chairman of Punjab Backward Classes Land Development and Finance Corporation (BACKFINCO), said that the number of backward classes in the state of Punjab is about 40 percent of the total population.
He informed that BACKFINCO is the only institution in the state of Punjab which provides loans at low interest rates to the backward classes, economically weaker sections and minority groups of the state to set up their own employment under various schemes with the aim of raising the economic level of the people. Mr. Saini informed that new schemes are being made by the government for the welfare of the backward classes of the state and these will be implemented soon.
He appealed that the people of backward classes should take maximum advantage of the schemes being run by the government. He further said that to brighten the future of the children of the state, the government is raising the level of education in government schools under Mission Shiksha Kranti, in which new schools are being opened and many old schools are being upgraded with modern facilities.
To save the youth of Punjab from drug addiction, the government has started a war against drugs. He appealed to all the sensible people of the state to cooperate as much as possible in the campaigns being run by the government so that by making these campaigns successful, a good society can be built.
