New Delhi: The Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing of bail applications of activists Umar Khalid, Sharjeel Imam, Gulfisha Fatima and Miran Haider till September 19 in a UAPA case related to the alleged conspiracy behind the February 2020 riots in Delhi.
A bench of Justices Arvind Kumar and NV Anjaria said they received the files very late.
The activists have challenged the Delhi High Court’s September 2 order denying bail to nine persons including Khalid and Imam, saying that ‘conspiratorial’ violence by citizens under the guise of demonstrations or protests cannot be permitted.
Those whose bail was cancelled include Khalid, Imam, Fatima, Muhammad Salim Khan, Shifa ur Rehman, Athar Khan, Miran Haider, Abdul Khalid Saifi and Shadab Ahmed.
