Rotary Club Midtown's "Gift of Light" project receives national level honor

Hoshiarpur- Rotary Club Midtown's social service project "Gift of Light" under the club's chairman and former president Rotarian Manoj Ohri was honored at the national level for his outstanding contribution to social service. This honor was given to him during a ceremony organized by the "Anti Corruption Foundation of India" and other organizations. Social workers from all over the country were honored on this occasion.

Hoshiarpur- Rotary Club Midtown's social service project "Gift of Light" under the club's chairman and former president Rotarian Manoj Ohri was honored at the national level for his outstanding contribution to social service. This honor was given to him during a ceremony organized by the "Anti Corruption Foundation of India" and other organizations. Social workers from all over the country were honored on this occasion.
National President Sunil Kumar was present as the chief guest at the ceremony. Rotarian Manoj Ohri was honored with the "India Pride Award". This award was given to him for his special work in the field of cornea transplant, distribution of free medical equipment and blood donation.
Manoj Ohri has donated blood 39 times so far and has provided free injections, medicines and other medical equipment to more than 1000 patients. Along with this, he has also distributed 55 tricycles and wheelchairs to the needy. He is continuously engaged in social service through Rotary Club.
He said that so far more than 600 cornea transplants have been done in the country, which has brought light into the lives of the blind. Out of these, 455 are from Punjab, 9 from Bihar, 28 from Jharkhand, 37 from Uttar Pradesh, 1 from Maharashtra, 2 from Madhya Pradesh, 2 from Uttarakhand and 2 from Rajasthan.
He is keen to collect information about corneal blind people from all over the country and help them. He appealed that if any person or their family members want to take advantage of this scheme, they can contact any member of Rotary Club Hoshiarpur. Apart from this, Sunil Kumar from Kapurthala district, Barinder Singh Masiti from Tanda and Dr. Kajal can also be contacted. All the operations and assistance under this scheme are completely free.
Former President of Rotary Club Gopal Krishna Vasudeva and Rotarian Parveen Pabbi were also specially present on this occasion.
