Chandigarh, September 8 - Haryana's Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Mr. Anil Vij told the officials that they should work with full force to drain the water wherever it is standing. While draining water, it must be ensured that the water should go directly into drains and not into any colony.
Mr. Vij was speaking after holding a meeting of top officials of various departments in Ambala today.
In the meeting, the Energy Minister was informed by the officials about the areas with excessive water and the arrangements for water drainage in these areas. The officials also told the Minister that the water drainage being done earlier from the industrial area was stopped by some elements.
During the meeting, Mr. Vij prepared a plan for water drainage from the industrial area. Responsibilities were given to various departments on the spot for water drainage. He directed that the departments should work together in the work of water drainage from the industrial area. After the meeting, Mr. Anil Vij visited the industrial area and interacted with the officers, employees and industrialists engaged in water drainage work and also gave guidelines for quick water drainage.

During the meeting, Energy Minister Anil Vij also praised the administration officials for their good work in view of the waterlogging. He said that two tasks are very important under waterlogging, one of which is to provide relief by working immediately and the other is to work later under a permanent solution for that task. He said that we have to fix one principle in our mind that no one is a stranger to us, everyone is ours.
NHAI Project Director told Minister Anil Vij that work is being done to drain the water on the road in front of the industrial area, which will be drained soon. To prevent waterlogging here, a survey team has also been deployed in the nearby areas so that the project can be prepared by drawing up the outline for the future.

On this occasion, the Energy Minister also told the NHAI officials that the benefit of deepening the Tangri river is that despite the water level in the Tangri river being above the danger mark, the waterlogging situation in the urban areas of Ambala Cantt has reduced. He said that in future, whatever soil is taken from here, it should be ensured that the vehicle has GPS.
