Arrears of sugarcane farmers should be paid soon - Mr. Shyam Singh Rana

Chandigarh, July 18 - Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Mr. Shyam Singh Rana directed the officials that the farmers will be paid soon as soon as the sugarcane is sold. He also directed to settle the arrears of the farmers quickly.

Mr. Rana was presiding over a meeting of the officials of the department here today.
Principal Secretary of the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. Saket Kumar, Director of the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Mr. Rajnarayan Kaushik, Managing Director of the Haryana State Foundation of Cooperative Sugar Mills Mr. Shakti Singh and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Mr. Shyam Singh Rana discussed in detail with the officials the arrears of the sugarcane growers associated with Narayangarh Sugar Mill and directed to resolve this matter as soon as possible. He said that the sugarcane crushing work in the mill should continue continuously and the farmers should also continue to pay for their sugarcane.
After the meeting, Mr. Rana said that the state government is committed to the interests of the farmers. The government is trying to reduce the cost of farming for the farmers and their production should continue to increase. After testing the soil in the field, farmers are being advised to sow the crop after conducting laboratory tests. Good quality seeds are being made available and farmers are being made aware of this so that the dependence on chemical fertilizers is minimized. Various incentives are also being given to attract farmers towards natural farming.
The Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister also said that the farmers of the state are being proposed to modernize and diversify instead of traditional farming. Grants are also being given to farmers starting businesses in the field of fish farming and animal husbandry. He reiterated that the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini is continuously striving to increase the income of the farmers of the state.
