Sangrur, October 4:- Under the Punjab Government’s ‘War Against Drugs’ campaign, Sangrur Police conducted a district-level cordon and search operation (CASO) to curb activities related to drugs. During the operation, police teams conducted checking and searches at drug hotspots and other suspicious and sensitive locations.

Giving information in this regard, District Police Chief Dr. Ravjot Grewal said that under the supervision of senior police officers, the police force searched suspicious persons and sensitive locations. He said that the objective of the operation was to identify and prevent activities related to drugs so that there would be no scope for the drug trade.

The District Police Chief said that prevention of drugs and public safety are among the main priorities of Sangrur Police. He said that active police presence in sensitive areas and such search operations are being used to keep a watch on drug-related activities. Vigilance and action in accordance with law will continue to eradicate drugs.

Ravjot Grewal appealed to the people to cooperate with the police in this campaign against drugs. He said that if anyone comes across information regarding the sale of drugs or any other suspicious activity in their surroundings, they should inform the concerned police station. Timely information provided by the public can play an important role in making action against drugs more effective.

The District Police Chief said that joint efforts by the police and society are essential for creating a drug-free, safe and peaceful Punjab. He reiterated that Sangrur Police is fully committed to achieving this objective.
