Hoshiarpur (Daljit Ajnoha):- Every event that occurs in life is connected with the Vastu of a building. Sometimes, when everything is going well, a person suddenly turns towards renunciation, leaves home to become a monk despite the family’s wishes, refuses to marry and chooses to live a solitary life.

According to internationally renowned Vastu expert and author Dr. Bhupendra Vastu Shastri, these decisions are not always made by the individual alone; the Vastu of the building in which the person resides can also influence such changes. This may sound a little unusual, but he believes that events often unfold according to the influence of a building’s Vastu.

When someone gives up social, family or worldly life to become a saint, ascetic or renunciant, the north-west corner of the house may be afflicted or may have a doorway defect. The western direction may be affected by external defects, while the south-west direction may be enlarged, lowered or severely afflicted.

Along with these defects, the north-east corner may be cut, reduced, contaminated or burdened with heavy construction. In some buildings, there may even be a well or a deep pit in the Brahmasthan, the central area of the building.

In certain homes, a person may adopt secret spiritual practices or a mysterious lifestyle; according to Dr. Bhupendra, in such cases, the south-west direction may be completely afflicted.

If, along with these defects, the northern direction has severe Vastu defects and the south-east corner is also afflicted, women may be affected more significantly.

A popular saying associated with defects in the north-west corner is, “Yogi, Bhogi, Jogi”—“The north-west brings its own consequences.” Our building determines our fortune and future. Correct Vastu guides us in the right direction in life.
