Amritsar, November 22: As part of the 350th Shaheedi anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, the Shaheedi Nagar Kirtan initiated by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) from Gurdwara Dhobari Sahib, Assam, today departed from Gurdwara Sri Charan Kanwal Sahib, Machhiwara for its next destination — Gurdwara Sri Bhattha Sahib, Ropar.
This Nagar Kirtan, which started from Assam on 21 August 2025, has travelled across 24 states of India, and after nearly three months, will conclude tomorrow, 23 November, at Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib.
At the religious congregation held at Gurdwara Sri Charan Kanwal Sahib, the Hazoori Ragi Jatha performed Gurbani Kirtan, and Giani Gurminder Singh, Granthi of Sri Harmandar Sahib, shared the historical narrative of the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji.
At the commencement of the Nagar Kirtan, the Palki Sahib carrying Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji was ceremonially adorned, and the management honored the Panj Piare and distinguished guests with Siropa. Sangat warmly welcomed the procession at various stops along the route, with participation from many school children as well.
