President Draupadi Murmu said that the sacred festival of Republic Day is an opportunity to reflect on the status and direction of our country, past, present and future.
On August 15, 1947, on the strength of the freedom struggle, the destiny of our country changed. India became independent, and we became the architects of our national policy. Since January 26, 1950, we have been moving our Republic forward towards constitutional ideals. On that day, we fully implemented our Constitution.
He said that India, the birthplace of democracy, got free from colonial rule and our democratic republic came into being. Our Constitution is the foundation of the largest republic in world history. The ideals of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity enshrined in our Constitution define our republic.
The framers of the Constitution have provided a strong foundation for the spirit of nationalism and unity of the country through constitutional provisions.
President Draupadi Murmu said that today the country has become the fourth largest economy in the world. Soon India will become the third largest economy in the world. Our hardworking brothers and sisters are rebuilding the country. Our talented youth and children, with their talent, strengthen the golden future of the country.
Addressing the nation on the eve of the 77th Republic Day, President Draupadi Murmu said that the Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel united our country. Last year, on October 31, grateful citizens celebrated his 150th birth anniversary with enthusiasm. Commemorative events are being organized on the auspicious occasion of his 150th birth anniversary. These events strengthen the sense of national unity and pride among the countrymen.
From North to South and from East to West, our ancestors wove the fabric of our ancient cultural unity. Every effort to keep the symbols of national unity alive is highly commendable. Since November 7 last year, the 150th anniversary of the composition of our national song, Vande Mataram, is being celebrated. This song, a hymn to the divine form of Mother India, instills a sense of patriotism in every heart.
