Una, 7 October:- Preparations have begun for the Mata Shri Chintpurni Festival, which is being organized with the objective of promoting religious and cultural tourism. This year, the grand Mata Shri Chintpurni Festival is proposed to be held from November 22 to 24. This information was given by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Una Ishant Jaswal while chairing a meeting held with various departments at the BDO Office Amb today regarding preparations for the festival.
The ADC said that the Mata Shri Chintpurni Festival is a unique confluence of faith, folk culture and tourism. The second edition of the festival, held at Amb Maidan from November 14 to 16 last year, was highly successful. Devotees and tourists participated enthusiastically in the event, and the festival established a distinct identity among the religious and cultural events of the state.
He said that this year too, cultural evenings, folk art performances, sports competitions and various public participation programmes will be organized to make the festival attractive and memorable. Through these activities, Himachal Pradesh’s rich folk culture, traditions and cultural heritage will be provided a wider platform.
The ADC said that the district administration will ensure all necessary arrangements for the successful conduct of the festival in a time-bound manner. Teams of the concerned departments will be constituted for various tasks related to the event, and the departments will work in coordination with one another so that better facilities can be provided to devotees, tourists and local residents.
He said that the festival will promote not only religious faith in Mata Shri Chintpurni but also the cultural heritage and tourism potential of the region. The administration will make every effort to ensure that every devotee and tourist visiting the festival returns with a pleasant and unforgettable experience.
SDM Amb Paras Aggarwal, DSP Anil Patial, BDO Amb Ompal Dogra and officials from various departments were present at the meeting.
