Chandigarh, 26 September:- Amid the impressive performance of Indian athletes at the Asian Games-2026 being held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, Haryana’s daughters are bringing pride to the country. Haryana Minister of State for Sports and Youth Empowerment Shri Gaurav Gautam extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Indian women athletes, particularly Haryana’s daughters, for their outstanding performance at the Asian Games. He said that with their hard work, talent and determination, the daughters had once again proved that Haryana is a nursery of sporting talent.
The Sports Minister said that the presence of six daughters from Haryana in the Indian women’s kabaddi team was a matter of great pride for the state. He said that daughters today are leading the country not only on the sports field but in every sphere. The performance of the kabaddi team is a symbol of teamwork, discipline and strong willpower. He expressed hope that Haryana’s athletes would return from the Asian Games with a rich haul of medals.
Gaurav Gautam said that the state government is committed to providing modern sports facilities and international-level coaching to athletes. Through ‘Mission Olympics-2036’, special emphasis is being laid on nurturing sporting talent in the state from the grassroots level. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, schemes such as ‘Khelo India’ have created a strong sporting environment in the country, the direct impact of which is being seen in international competitions.
The Sports Minister said that the state’s athletes would be given a grand welcome and felicitated upon their return from the Asian Games. He appealed to the youth to make sports a means of personality development and said that the government would continue to provide equal opportunities to every talented athlete to move forward.
