Mohali:- The episode of Bharat Milap, which presents a unique example of love, sacrifice and devotion between brothers, moved the audience at the Ramleela and Dussehra Ground, Phase 1, Mohali. Bharat Milap was staged on the sixth night of the Ramleela organised by the Shri Ramleela and Dussehra Committee. On the occasion, Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh attended as the chief guest.
MLA Kulwant Singh said that Ramleela is not merely a means of entertainment but a platform that teaches people how to live. The divine acts of Lord Shri Ram teach us how to serve our parents, nurture love and a spirit of sacrifice between brothers, and uphold the respect and dignity of one's wife.
He said it was essential to connect today's generation with its culture and values. Parents should take their children to watch Ramleela so that they can draw inspiration from the life of Lord Shri Ram and understand the importance of family values, duties and relationships. He appealed to people not to view Ramleela merely as entertainment, but to take some lesson from it and incorporate it into their lives.
The staging of Bharat Milap portrayed Bharat's love for Lord Shri Ram, his sacrifice and his spirit of brotherhood. The episode in which Bharat goes to meet Shri Ram during his exile is regarded in Indian culture as an example of familial love and selfless devotion.
Prateek played Lord Shri Ram, Sandeep Rana played Lakshman, Shivani played Mata Sita, Kamal played Bharat, and Yashmeet played Shatrughna. Ritu portrayed Kaushalya, Madhu played Kaikeyi, Monika played Sumitra, and Sadhvi played Manthara. Other artists also brought the episode to life through their performances of various characters.
