Hoshiarpur:- Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain on Wednesday flagged off the mobile cancer screening and early detection bus of Livasa Hospital, Hoshiarpur. The initiative has been launched by the hospital on the occasion of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Consultant–Medical Oncology Dr. Mayank Kapoor, Director–Surgical Oncology Dr. Shubh Mahindru and Regional Facility Director Abhinav Srivastava of Livasa Hospital were present on the occasion.

Dr. Mayank Kapoor said, “The bus will provide digital mammography, Pap smear tests and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) tests for screening breast, cervical and prostate cancers, respectively. Along with this, people will be encouraged to prioritise preventive healthcare, seek timely medical advice and receive appropriate follow-up treatment.”

Dr. Shubh Mahindru said, “Through this initiative, we want to encourage women to prioritise their breast health, feel comfortable discussing their concerns with doctors and understand that a cancer diagnosis does not mean that hope is lost.”

Anurag Yadav, CEO of Livasa Hospitals, said that through the mobile screening bus, the hospital is taking an important step towards making preventive healthcare services more accessible to communities.

Abhinav Srivastava said, “Through this initiative, our objective is to address gaps in access to preventive healthcare services. We are taking cancer awareness and screening facilities closer to local communities.”
