Una, October 4:- A meeting of the Block Congress Committee Haroli was held today at Palakwah under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri. Detailed discussions were held on further strengthening the organisation, activating workers up to the booth level and upcoming programmes.

Mukesh Agnihotri said that the meeting of the Block Congress Committee Haroli is being held regularly on the first Sunday of every month. He said that the next meeting of the organisation will be held with members of the booth committees so that the organisation can be further strengthened at the booth level. He said that Haroli is a strong stronghold of the Congress and the people and workers here have always supported the Congress.

He said that Congress workers should respond to any propaganda or misleading statements by the opposition with courtesy and restraint. He asked the workers to strongly present the Congress ideology, the development works of the government and the changes brought about in Haroli before the public. He said that personal remarks should be avoided and views should be presented on the basis of facts and achievements. He said that the people of Haroli have consistently stood with the Congress and workers should also approach the public with the same trust and respect.

Mukesh Agnihotri said that the pace of development in Haroli has continuously accelerated. He said that a Rs. 101 crore scheme for the drinking water sector was recently approved. During the tenure of the present government, 78 water tanks have been constructed in the Haroli Assembly constituency. He said that there will be no drinking water problem in Haroli in the coming time. He said that continuous work is also being carried out in the education sector. So far, Rs. 28 crore has been provided for Haroli College and another Rs. 12 crore will be provided. Rs. 12.50 crore has also been sanctioned for Haroli School.

He said that fairs will continue to be organised in Haroli and the social and cultural sentiments of the people will be respected. He also announced Rs. 25 lakh for the Ravidas Temple at Palakwah.

Reacting to the remarks made about Prof. Simmi Agnihotri, Mukesh Agnihotri said that if anyone makes any false or objectionable remark about the late Prof. Simmi Agnihotri, an appropriate response will be given. He said that Congress workers should maintain courtesy and restraint while responding to any provocative statements. Party workers should present their views with facts. He said that it is natural for opponents to be troubled by the development of Haroli, but Congress workers have to respond through development and public service. He said that there is internal tussle over tickets in the BJP, whereas the Congress organisation stands among the people with its work.

General Secretary of the Pradesh Congress Committee Ranjit Singh Rana said that no one can defeat Mukesh Agnihotri in Haroli. He said that instead of talking about development issues, the BJP is competing through statements against Mukesh Agnihotri.

Block Congress Committee Haroli President Sandeep Agnihotri said that the name of Prof. Simmi Agnihotri is taken with respect in every household of Haroli. He said that the people of the area will always remember her social contribution.

District Congress Committee President Deshraj Gautam said that everyone should work together to strengthen democratic institutions. He also termed the remarks made against the late Prof. Simmi Agnihotri as inappropriate.

Block Youth Congress President Prashant Roy said that the youth of Haroli stands with Mukesh Agnihotri. He said that development works have been carried out equally in every part of the Assembly constituency.

Ashok Thakur said that so many development works have been carried out in Haroli that it is difficult even to prepare a complete list of them. He said that the people are witnessing the development works themselves.

Subhadra Chaudhary said that Mukesh Agnihotri has given Haroli a distinct identity in the state. Describing Prof. Simmi Agnihotri as a prominent personality, she recalled her social contribution.

President of the Haroli Ex-Servicemen League, Captain Shakti Singh, said that politics should be based on ideas and policies. He said that Mukesh Agnihotri is laying a strong foundation for development for future generations.

SC Cell President Jaspal Jassa stressed the need to strengthen the organisation up to the booth level. District Mahila Congress Committee President Suman Thakur said that the Congress team will visit every household in the Haroli Assembly constituency and interact with people. She described the late Prof. Simmi Agnihotri as an embodiment of service.

Senior Congress leader Chaudhary Dharam Singh said that the BJP wants to pursue politics of defamation, whereas the Congress is approaching the public on the basis of development and public service. He said that the development works carried out in Haroli are being discussed across the state.

Block Mahila Congress Committee President Sukhjinder Kaur called upon workers to respond to opposition propaganda with facts and dignity. Zila Parishad Member Kewal Singh Aujla urged all Congress workers to remain united and strengthen the organisation. Zila Parishad Member Sulinder Pal Kaur said that Mukesh Agnihotri has established new benchmarks of development in the Haroli Assembly constituency.

The Congress workers present at the meeting resolved to further strengthen the organisation and maintain continuous dialogue with the public. Zila Parishad members, Panchayat Samiti members, Panchayat representatives, office-bearers and members of the Block Congress Committee, along with a large number of Congress workers, were present at the meeting.
