
Jeevanjot Kaur takes charge as Deputy Secretary, NRI Affairs, Punjab
Chandigarh- Jeevanjot Kaur has taken charge as Deputy Secretary, NRI Affairs, Punjab. In an exclusive conversation with senior journalist Sanjeev Kumar, she said that strengthening the relationship with Non-Resident Punjabis (NRIs) and increasing their participation in the development of Punjab is her top priority.
Chandigarh- Jeevanjot Kaur has taken charge as Deputy Secretary, NRI Affairs, Punjab. In an exclusive conversation with senior journalist Sanjeev Kumar, she said that strengthening the relationship with Non-Resident Punjabis (NRIs) and increasing their participation in the development of Punjab is her top priority.
In the past, Jeevanjot Kaur was serving as Joint Excise and Taxation Commissioner (Admin), Patiala, where she was known as an excellent administrative officer. Based on her administrative capacity and good performance, she has now been entrusted with the responsibility of looking after NRI affairs.
Jeevanjot Kaur said that the NRIs of Punjab have always played an important role in the progress of Punjab, and now there is a need to increase their participation even more. They want NRIs to take more interest in their social, economic and infrastructural schemes.
Increasing the participation of NRI community – Ensuring an active role of NRIs in the progress and development works of Punjab.
Giving a message to the NRI community, Jeevanjot Kaur said,
"Punjab belongs to all of us, and NRIs should also contribute to its upliftment in every possible way. Their participation in the social, economic and infrastructural progress can bring about a huge change for Punjab individually and collectively. Together, we all build a strong and prosperous Punjab."
Jeevanjot Kaur's appointment is being considered a big step towards increasing the proximity between NRIs and the Punjab government, making policies more effective and giving a new direction to the contribution of NRIs in the progress of Punjab.
