Apart from this, such awareness activities were conducted in about 45 schools including Tripdi Kartar Colony, Samana, Ghanur. Civil surgeon Dr. Raminder Kaur said that it is the common responsibility of all of us to take precautions to prevent dengue and we can get rid of this disease only with the cooperation of all.
He said that when there is any kind of fever, it is very important to get it checked so that the patient can get proper treatment on time. He said that although the government has arrangements in all the government hospitals for the diagnosis and treatment of dengue in the district, still it is necessary to eliminate the breeding of mosquitoes to prevent the spread of the disease. The Punjab Government Health Department provides free dengue fever testing and treatment in government hospitals. He said that keeping in mind the increasing cases of dengue, morning and evening announcements can be made through Gurdwaras, temples, mosques etc. Field health staff and Asha workers are making people aware in their respective areas.
         District epidemiologist Dr. Sumit Singh said that during the special campaign conducted by the department, larvae are being found. Therefore, the department appeals that water should not be allowed to collect in broken pots, coolers, pots, refrigerator trays etc. around their homes and in their homes. It should be ensured to destroy standing water sources by observing dry day on every Friday. Today, Friday being a dry day, teams of the health department went door to door to check standing water sources. When larvae were found in 240 houses/stations, they were destroyed on the spot. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Rakesh Gupta, Director Rajdeep Singh, Assistant Malaria Officer Malakiat Singh, Gurjant Singh, Health Supervisor Ran Singh, Anil Guru, Avtar Singh and Baljit Singh MPW. etc. were present.
