Hoshiarpur- Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Hoshiarpur Mr. Nikas Kumar visited soybean agro-processing plant operated by Mrs. Ravinder Kaur and progressive farmer Mr. Amrik Singh at village Gambhowal.
He was accompanied by Chief Agriculture Officer Hoshiarpur Dapindar Singh, Agriculture Officer (General) Hoshiarpur Kiranjit Singh, Agriculture Officer Tanda Yashpal, Assistant Manager (CSR) Sonalika Hoshiarpur Kumari Neha and Mr. Rajnish Kumar.
The family and villagers warmly welcomed the guests. Mr. Amrik Singh showed the soybean processing plant and shared the complete information about the method of making milk and cheese from soybean. He said that soybean milk and cheese are nutritious food which are very beneficial for vegetarian youth who go to gym.
He informed that this plant is operated by his wife Mrs. Ravinder Kaur and family members cooperate in it. They sell the milk and cheese prepared by themselves in nearby towns like Dasuha and Tanda. The family also served pakoras made of soybean milk and soybean cheese to the guests. The Additional Deputy Commissioner got detailed information about the cost of the plant and the daily profit.
He appreciated the efforts being made by Amrik Singh and his family and assured all possible help from the administration and Sonalika Hoshiarpur. He said that other farmers also need to take guidance from this family and become aware of such subsidiary businesses which can increase agricultural income.
