
Khalsa College organised extension lecture-cum-workshop on ‘Vernacular Bridge Course for Learning English’
Garhshankar, February 25- A lecture-cum-workshop on ‘Vernacular Bridge Course for Learning English’ was organised by the Department of English and Liberal Arts Society under the leadership of Principal Dr. Amandeep Hira at Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar. The keynote speaker on the occasion was Prof. Nirmal Dutt, former Head of the Department of English, DAV College, Chandigarh.
Garhshankar, February 25- A lecture-cum-workshop on ‘Vernacular Bridge Course for Learning English’ was organised by the Department of English and Liberal Arts Society under the leadership of Principal Dr. Amandeep Hira at Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar. The keynote speaker on the occasion was Prof. Nirmal Dutt, former Head of the Department of English, DAV College, Chandigarh.
Addressing on the occasion, Prof. Nirmal Dutt explained how an effective method of learning English can be developed through mother tongue. He informed the students about various ways of acquiring proficiency in English through his academic experience and books.
Addressing on the occasion, Principal Dr. Amandeep Hira to Education Secretary Engr. Sukhminder Singh expressed special gratitude to the SGPC for focusing on the teaching of English language in the institutions running under the SGPC.
He appreciated the initiative and stressed on continuing such activities in future as well. Head of the Department of English Prof. Ritu Singh thanked the keynote speaker and staff who attended the workshop and encouraged the students to adopt the techniques explained in the workshop. The workshop was conducted by Prof. Navdeep Singh.
On this occasion, English Learners Fraternity (ELF) Club was established. Prof. Lakhwinderjit Kaur, Prof. Janaki Aggarwal, Prof. Manbir Kaur, Prof. Kuldeep Kaur, Prof. Harvinder Kaur, Prof. Preetinder Singh, Prof. Saurav Dadri and Prof. Kanwaljit Kaur etc. participated in the workshop.
