According to the order, two-wheeler drivers without helmet will not be given petrol at the pumps. There will also be a ban on giving fuel to any vehicle without proper number plate. This order has been issued to all the petrol pump operators of the district under the Disaster Management Act, 2005. The Deputy Commissioner said that this step has been taken in view of law and order and safety of the people.
Also, the sale of petrol and diesel in open containers, bottles, or other unauthorized packaging has also been prohibited. The Deputy Commissioner has directed the petrol pump operators to immediately report any suspicious behavior of any person at the petrol pump to the local police.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed to ensure cleanliness and facilities at petrol pumps. He said that public toilets at petrol pumps should be cleaned and maintained regularly. This facility is free for the general public, and strict action will be taken by the district administration if any complaint is received regarding restrictions or locking of washrooms.
