
‘CM Yoga Shala’ is giving the message of healthy lifestyle to the people

Nagar, January 07, 2025: As part of the efforts started by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to make the people of the state disease free and provide them good health, the message of healthy lifestyle is being given to the people of the district under ‘CM Yoga Shala’. Under this initiative, yoga classes are being organized daily by expert yoga instructors at various places in the district.

Nagar, January 07, 2025: As part of the efforts started by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to make the people of the state disease free and provide them good health, the message of healthy lifestyle is being given to the people of the district under ‘CM Yoga Shala’. Under this initiative, yoga classes are being organized daily by expert yoga instructors at various places in the district.
Giving this information, SDM Kharar Gurmander Singh said that under the ‘CM Di Yogashala’ classes being organized in various cities and villages of Kharar sub-division, efforts are being made to make the common people aware about health. He said that expert yoga instructors have been provided by the Punjab Government for yoga classes, out of which 6 yoga classes are being organized daily in Kharar by yoga instructor Harmeet Kaur.
In which he conducted the first class at Gurdwara Shri Hari Rai Sahib Sant Majra Road Sector-127 from 5.30 am to 6.30 am, second class at Western Tower Sector-126, near Nijjar Chowk, from 6.45 am to 7.45 am, third class at Dera Kulhadi Wala, Ancient Hanuman Temple, Chandigarh, Road Mundi Kharar, from 9.45 am to 10.45 am, fourth class at Children's Park, near Nijjar Chowk, Sector-125, Old Sunny Enclave, from 11.00 am to 12.00 pm, fifth class at Whispering Park, near Sunny Club, Sector-125, Sunny Enclave, Kharar, from 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm and sixth class at Royal Green Park, Backside Gurdwara Sahib, Old Sunny Enclave, Kharar, from 4.45 pm to 5.45 pm, where yoga training is given without any charge. Harmeet Kaur, instructor of CM Di Yogashala, told that yoga classes start from 5.30 am and continue till 5.45 pm. The timing of yoga sessions is kept flexible as per the convenience of the people, so that the instructor can be called on time according to their batch. She told that on an average an instructor conducts at least five to six yoga sessions in a day. She told that yoga has countless benefits to the body, which positively affect a person physically and mentally. Yoga practice improves brain functioning, reduces stress, increases flexibility of the human body, reduces high blood pressure, improves lung capacity, relieves anxiety and strengthens bones. Apart from this, regular yoga practice also reduces the risk of heart diseases. Yoga is not only physical exercise but also an effective way to correct our unhealthy lifestyle. She also told that at least 25 people must be enrolled in each session and yoga instructors are available in the district to guide the participants coming to participate in yoga sessions. People are voluntarily participating in these sessions.
Apart from the website cmdiyogshala.punjab.gov.in, those who have not yet joined can register themselves by contacting the dedicated helpline number 76694-00500. Any area with at least 25 participants can call/message on the said WhatsApp number to start their new class/session. No fee is charged for the yoga classes.
