The teams of the district health department today checked standing water sources to check for dengue larvae throughout the district during a special campaign.
Civil surgeon Dr. Jatinder Kansal said that in case of any kind of fever, check-up should be ensured which is done free of cost in all government health institutions. The medicine should be taken only with the doctor's advice. Only paracetamol should be taken in case of fever. Dengue is a viral fever spread by the daytime bite of the Aedes mosquito. This mosquito breeds in clear standing water.
District Epidemiologist Dr Sumeet Singh said that due to the rainy season, it is natural to increase the production of mosquitoes, so there is a need to be vigilant. Under the Dry Day-Fry Day campaign, 39,732 houses were visited and checked for dengue larvae and the larvae found in 525 places were destroyed on the spot by the teams.
