New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday released a video message regarding the implementation of 33 percent reservation for women by the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. In this message, directly addressing mothers, daughters and common women, the Prime Minister said that India has decided that by the year 2047, when it celebrates the 100th anniversary of its independence, the country will become a developed nation.
Prime Minister Modi said that his years of experience as the head of the government show that if we want to achieve the goal of a developed India, we have to recognize the power of women and use it for the progress of the country.
Referring to the 'Nari Shakti Vandana Law' (128th Constitutional Amendment) of 2023, he said that through this, 33 percent seats have been reserved for women in the Lok Sabha and Legislative Assemblies and this important decision was passed with the consent of everyone.
The Prime Minister said that now everyone wants that women should get 33 percent reservation in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies during the 2029 elections. He said that talks have been going on with political parties for the last few days and many parties have also supported it, which is creating a good atmosphere. He said that women should appeal to all parties that when their MPs join the session in the budget session to be held from April 16 to 18, they should approve the agenda of passing women's reservation by 2029.
