State government serious about health and hygiene of women and adolescents Aarti Singh Rao

Chandigarh, May 15:- Haryana Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao said that the state government is fully aware and serious about the health and hygiene of women and adolescents in the state. She said that with the aim of “Swachhta, Respect and Empowerment”, the “Menstrual Hygiene Mission” is being implemented effectively under the Mahila Akh Kishori Samman Yojana.
The Health Minister said that under this scheme, women and adolescents belonging to the BPL category in the age group of 10 to 45 years are being made aware about menstrual hygiene and are being provided free sanitary napkins. She said that this initiative is a big step towards improving the health of women as well as making them socially empowered.
Aarti Singh Rao informed that to get the benefit of the scheme, the beneficiaries will have to apply by May 20, 2026 on the designated portal under a simple process. Apart from this, the beneficiaries can also get information and facilities of the scheme from their nearest Anganwadi center.
He further said that the main objective of the government is to remove the misconceptions related to menstruation among women, increase awareness about cleanliness and provide them with a dignified life. Through this scheme, the goal has been set to improve the health status of women and bring positive changes in the society.
The Health Minister appealed to all eligible women and adolescents to take maximum benefit of this scheme and become aware of their health. He directed the concerned departments to ensure special efforts to extend the benefit of the scheme to the last row.
