Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, January 21, 2026:- Today, the first day of Republic Day rehearsal was held at Shaheed (Shaurya Chakra) Major Harminder Pal Singh Government College, Phase 6, Mohali. Teams of school students, NCC Cadets presented various cultural programs. Republic Day rehearsals will begin today from January 21 and the full dress rehearsal will continue till January 24.
Punjab Freedom Fighter, Defence Services Welfare and Horticulture Minister Mr. Mohinder Bhagat will be the chief guest of the Republic Day celebrations. The Republic Day celebrations on January 26 will feature march past and cultural activities as well as tableaux showcasing the state’s major pro-people programmes and welfare schemes.
Students of A.P.G. School Mundi Kharar, St. Soldier Convent School Phase-7 Mohali, Ajit Karam Singh International Public School, Sector, 65, Mohali, Government High School Daun, Shivalik Public School, Phase-6, Mohali will participate in the cultural programme. Government College, Phase-6, Mohali, Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Kurali, Laxmi Tara Rathore Public School, Sealba Majri, Mata Sahib Kaur Public School, Sawara, Government Senior Secondary School, Gige Majra, Government High School, Devinagar Abrawan’s NCC contingent will also participate in the cultural programme. Cadets and the school bands of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Sohana and School of Eminence, Phase 3B1, Mohali will participate in the march past.
The special children of School of Eminence, Phase 3B1 (Government Primary School) will have the honour of singing the National Anthem to conclude the function.
Apart from this, a yoga session will also be conducted under the CM's Yogashala launched by the Punjab Government with the aim of keeping the people healthy and mentally stress-free.
