Personal arms licenses and weapons are not valid in banks Deputy Commissioner
Karnal, November 28: The District Level Review Meeting (DLRC) and District Advisory Committee (DCC) were held today in the auditorium of the District Secretariat under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh. 35 agenda items were discussed. The Deputy Commissioner directed officials to ensure that no security personnel in banks use personal weapons or weapons licenses.
He stated that banks can apply for weapons licenses separately. The weapons must also be owned by the bank. He also directed that bank officials should not employ anyone holding personal weapons or weapons licenses. He also directed that appropriate steps be taken to install CCTV cameras outside ATMs. The Deputy Commissioner urged customers to be made aware of cyber financial crimes. They should be informed of the URL (Uniform Resource Locator) of internet banking portals. Customers should be advised not to click on any similar links.
He directed bank officials to expedite the processing of loan applications received under various government schemes and to update pending cases on the portal promptly. The Deputy Commissioner stated that more citizens should be registered under social security schemes such as PMJJBY, PMSBY, and APY. All branches should work on a war footing towards achieving 100% digitization in the district. Camps should be organized regularly to educate customers about cashless transactions.
The meeting emphasized the importance of raising awareness about pending/old claims and unclaimed deposits under the "Your Capital, Your Rights" campaign, and ensuring that the benefits reach as many people as possible. It was stated that this campaign will continue until December 31st. The meeting also emphasized the prompt verification of applications received on the Prime Minister Vishwakarma Portal and the timely disbursement of loans to eligible beneficiaries.
Punjab National Bank's Lead District Manager, Sushil Kumar Hinduja, while providing information about the Pradhan Mantri Swa Nidhi Yojana, said that under this scheme, loans ranging from 15,000 to 50,000 rupees are made available to street vendors and handcart pullers. All DCOs have been instructed to direct their subordinate branch managers to expedite the disposal of pending applications.
The meeting was attended by Reserve Bank of India's LDO Kanwal Kishan, NABARD's DDM Himanshu Khatri, and officials from various banks.
